Column size of QListView

Hi,
I am using a QListView together with an QAbstractListModel just to show a
list of strings (with check boxes in front of them) .
My problem (perhaps a stupid one): I'd like to make this QListView resize
itself, so that the 'longest' item in the list is shown completely but not
more. Has anybody a hint for me (it must be simple, I know...)

a suggestion.... send this kind of Qt technical question to the good
