Using Qt static libraries

I have been able to run my application using Qt static libraries;
however, each time I run the application I am getting the following
message displayed a number of times:

 

"QCoreApplication::applicationDirPath: Please instantiate the
QApplication object first"

 

When I run the application using DLLs, I don't see the same error
message.

 

Any ideas on what could be causing this?
