what do you use for your distribution...

Greetings, I am looking at Qtopia for a project but its unclear how one can easily generate a full linux rootfs for use with qtopia.  I have looked at buildroot but it doesn't use a full glibc, and scratchbox doesn't look like its able to generate a bootable image.  Emdebian looks interesting but boots far to slow for my device.  So what do others out there use?
