QSA 1.1/1.2/2.0 Signals and Slot of the GUI widgets in the QSA Input Dialog Framework

Message 1 in thread

Dear fellow QSA users and Trolls,

we have nicely integrated QSA into our app. Our customers
are using QSA to customize the app. They are also using the
"QSA Input Dialog Framework" GUI widgets to creates simple
dialogs.

One of the most requested features regarding the GUI widgets
in the QSA Input Dialog Framework (after the pushbutton) is
the ability to react on certain events in the GUI, e.g. if
the active item in a CombBox was changed.

However these GUI widgets do not emit any signals at all.
We would at least need some basic signals from these widgets.
Now since QSA supports the signals and slots mechanism it would
be rather simple to add the required signals and slots to the
exposed GUI widgets ourselves.

However we do not want to add signals and slots to those widgets
now, only to see those signals and slots being rendered incompatible
with QSA 2.0 which hopefully has an expanded QSA Input Dialog Framework
with a good set of signals and slots.

To the fellow QSA users:
Do you have similar request from your customers and what are you doing about it?

To Trolltech:
What will QSA 2.0 bring in terms of the QSA Input Dialog Framework and
specifically with regards to signals and slots of the GUI Widgets?
Do you already know, which signals and slots you are going to expose?
If so, is their name and signature already specified and can you share
   this information?

best regards

 Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Thank you for your input. How we are to proceed with the Input Dialog
Framework is still being decided.

best regards,
Gunnar
