garbled font

Hi,

I am running qt-3.3.8 embedded on a mips box. I have built Qt and the 
examples. If I set the font to one of the bitmap fonts, the examples run 
fine. If, however, I set the font to one of the smoothtimes fonts or a ttf 
font, the text is garbled or smeared when I run the examples. Have I missed 
something in the build?
