qt using Xft ???

Message 1 in thread

Hi
I jsut wondered if qt is using the Xft extension to render fonts by
default. If not is it possible and how

I came across this because opera 6.0beta for linux displays fonts not
antialised

Depends on how you compiled it - it's a configure-time option.

Then either your qt wasn't compiled with xft support, or your graphics
driver doesn't support xft (this is the case if you're, for example, using
a crappy NVidia chipset. They refuse to release any specs, so their
hardware can't be supported and should be boycotted.)

;) ATI refuses to release specs also. Do you suggest we all by a 3DFX card?

Huh??? I have an NVidia card (ELSA Gladiac MX) and no problems with xft,
TrueType and antialiased fonts, so I guess you must be wrong here.

Well, I've got a graphics card with Nvidia Chipset. The may not release any
specs, but they have drivers for Linux, so no problems with RENDER suppot or
hardware acceleration. No reason to boycott.
