Message 1 in thread
I'm looking for a gui frontend for postgres written with qt. So far I only found
immature projects or those supporting MySql.

Does anyone know where I can get a root image that has everything necessary
to run QT apps in xfree86 4.1 ? xfree86 4.1 works great with the video card
in our embedded machine. I installed a slackware distribution, but its just
so huge..its about 90+ megs, and all I need is basic xwindows support to run
QT applications, and basic network card support.
If I can get that down to 60 megs, that would be wonderful.....
i can't get slackware to install less packages...it has a default minimum
set of packages. the other distributions are worse, mandrake wants around
130 megs or so and RedHat wants even more.
I was going to try peewee linux, but it looks like it is designed to run on
redhat 6.2 which i can't install right now.

The new mandrake will do a 65 meg install. However, you may be best off
looking at Sorceror linux (or whatever it is called now) or Linux From
Scratch. Note that both require a fair amount of effort on your part.

There are many many distributions out there. For something like an
embedded machine, though, I would seriously consider the 'roll-your-own'
approach. That way you can really control what goes into the distro, and
you can be sure that you have no strange, unpredicted things like the odd
slocate or other such cron job interfering with your machine.
However, barring that, a good resource/listing for distributions is:

I'd like to give you another answer...
I've tried to find that too, but there is none
(well i cant find one) the only people i didnt ask
, and maybe they are the best one to answer this
question, are the guys from PostgreSQL.
I know that there is no foward key in MySQL,
its sad because the tools are a lot better
than the tools for PostgreSQL.
if you find a GUI tool let me know?
just like that, do you know if it can be
a big problem if the foward key are missing ?
I mean, i want to keep using MySQL for an application
that im gonna start working on.
