Because of the obvious! I've needed to do this dozens of times.

The other missing feature is to select existing objects and put them in a
new layout. Grouping (layouts) should be done separate and after object
creation, not before. I find it frustrating in Designer because it keeps
putting my objects in the wrong place when I create the layout first.
