Is there a way to use gcc 4.1.1 on Windows? (beginner)

Message 1 in thread

Is there a way to use gcc 4.1.1 with Qt 4.2.2 on Windows? I downloaded
the precompiled open source edition and started to work through the
tutorial, but I get lots of
"... redeclared without dllimport attribute: previous dllimport ignored"
warnings. In spite of this, the simple programs in the tutorial were
working correctly until I got to tutorial 7, and the program started to
crash unless I used the gcc 3.4.5 included with MinGW.

I'd like to use Qt to build front ends to physics simulations and my
program runs about 15-20% faster when compiled with gcc 4.1.1. If Qt
can't be used with this gcc version on Windows, is it possible to
compile the Qt part with gcc 3.4.5 and link to a simulation part
compiled with gcc 4.1.1?

Thank you for your help in advance and pardon me for my ignorance in
these matters -- I have only built small command-line applications before.
