Qt3: special keys dump chars on some laptops

Message 1 in thread

Hello all,

we've recently noticed that pressing some special Fn key combinations on some
Dell laptops do dump a char (usually "'") in Qt widgets that allow user
input, quite unexpected.

This could be encountered using Qt 3.3.[6-8] applications, in Windows,
essentially with Dell Latitude D8xx laptops: take for instance a Qt3 sample
program that has a line edit or whatever widget you can type in, set the
focus to that widget and press some Fn+eject or Fn+lightplus or Fn+lightminus
and you should see a ' in the edit widget. Multimedia keys and some Fn key
combinations didn't show the unexpected char dump.

Unfortunately, support at Trolltech doesn't appear to reproduce the thing w/
their Dell laptop (not a Latitude one). There's probably a way to workaround
this using winEventFilter(), but we would like to know what hardware/software
combination show that behaviour.

Any laptop users here, who could try to reproduce this behaviour?

Regards,
