Qt-Interest messages come from qt-interest-request@trolltech.com

Message 1 in thread

Hello,

Is it correct that every Qt-Interest mail comes from
qt-interest-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx instead of qt-interest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?

Now, when I reply without manually changing the mail address to
qt-interest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, I immediately get a question from
qt-interest-request asking if it is ok to unsubscribe [because every mail
ends with "To unsubscribe - ...", which is picked up by the bot]. Is it
possible to change this?

Which mail client are you using? Ahhh, there it is: Lotus Notes Release
6.0.3 September 26, 2003

2003? Is there no newer version?

Anyway, in my client (Thunderbird) for example I see that your post
comes from (From:) your e-mail address (and neither from qt-interest nor
from qt-interest-request) which is correct (so yes, I /also/ have to
change the To: all the time to qt-interest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx when I reply ;).

But maybe your client gets confused by the following "list settings" in
the email header:

Return-Path: <qt-interest-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Maybe this or ...

...
List-Post: <mailto:qt-interest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
List-Help: <mailto:qt-interest-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=help>
List-Subscribe: <mailto:qt-interest-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=subscribe>
List-Unsubscribe:
<mailto:qt-interest-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe>
 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
... this confuses your mail client?

Cheers, Oliver

I also use Thunderbird. If I hit "Reply" the reply will go to the list
without me doing anything.

I use the "Newsgroup" interface in Thunderbird to read the messages.

I assume this means that you have to connect to the "Newsgroup" server
from Trolltech, right? Or how else do you setup your "Newsgroups"
interface in Thunderbird?

I'm stuck to email, we don't have internet on the development boxes
(apart from email); no newsgroup support either.

The Thunderbird "Newsgroup" interface indeed seems to make the
difference (and interpret the List-Post:
<mailto:qt-interest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> or whichever entry, whereas the
"EMail" interface does not).

That's right.
