Unfortunately, I cant produce a simple test case :( but hopefully I can give enough information that someone can give me a pointer in the right direction.
 
Basically,  have a QCanvasView with a bunch of QCanvasItems.
 
However, at some seemingly random states of the zoom and or canvas size (by resizing the window, not resizing the scene) certain canvas items lose their visibility.
 
I could see how this might be used for text (scroll too far out and it hides itself) but I have no idea where that property would be to see if thats the cause.
