gif animation on QSystemTrayIcon

When initializing a QSystemTrayIcon, I pass a QIcon with a gif file,
and although the image shows up, only the first frame shows.
Are animations not supported on this scenario?

Google this... its been asked many times before... but the quick answer is no its not supported.
