Problem with Images in Custom Docs using Qt Assistant

Hi all,
I want to place several custom documentation sets on several machines. I
build my docs using html and when I need to use an image I use png. The
files are integrated into a help system using adp an file for indexing etc.
I can view the images through Assistant correctly on the machine on which
they are authored.
I then move the documentation tree (including sub-directories containing the
images) from the source machine to a different machine. The move typically
involves a zip archive & email. I verify the png files are present and
intact using a browser.
The problem is that when viewed through Assistant I can see the text but the
image is scrambled (not recognisable as being the original...lots of fuzzy
blobs suggestive of zooming too far into a bitmap).
Any ideas?
