libavcodec with qt4.4 prerelease

how to use libavcodec and libavformat with Qt4.4 pre release which has
PHONON API for multimedia framework.that is how to use this codecs from
ffmpeg as phonon backend.is it possible? if so how, please explain.
or
is it possible to use libavcodec and libavformat from ffmpeg with
previous versions of Qt which dont have phonon. i want to playback .avi
files, so how to use libavcodec with Qt4.3 or so. how to integrate it.
plz explain .
