doubts regarding phonon backend

is it possible to use FFmpeg as backend for phonon . if so how ? give me explanation that you know plz?
if it's not possible, then why?

well several people are working on an libavfile/format backend.
for linux/kde e.g. http://code.google.com/p/phonon-vlc-mplayer/
there is also a cross platform backend. can't name it offhand though.
just google ;)
