When exiting, Qt 4 apps wreak havoc on my X11 display

Message 1 in thread

Hi all,

All Qt4 apps I run on Qt4.2.2 (this includes Qt standard examples
compiled under 4.2.2 and apps compiled on a previous release of Qt4 )
wreak havoc on my display upon exit. The window manager (icewm) is hung
for several seconds, and then windows are shifted down about 1 centimeter.

Thanks for any hint,

That's probably an icewm issue.

Have you tried a newer version of Qt?
Which version of icewm is this?
Is a newer version of icewm available?
Which exact Linux distribution?
Is this the version of icewm bundled with your distribution?

Hi again,

The same icewm does not do it on Qt 4.0.1 nor with any other app I ran.

> Have you tried a newer version of Qt?
I'm afraid I don't have the option to spend half of my time upgrading
this upgrading that and the other half solving the new problems arising...

> Which version of icewm is this?
icewm-1.2.26

> Is a newer version of icewm available?
Yes. I tried to compile the last stable version icewm-1.2.35 with the
light option on but compilation failed.

> Which exact Linux distribution?
I'm still running an old Fedora Core 2. I rather upgrade programs
individually, when necessary. I have an Ubuntu 7.10 at hand but I just
don't want to run into days or weeks of uninteresting problem solving (I
speak for myself, and I could as well say loss of time) to go back to my
current functionality level.

> Is this the version of icewm bundled with your distribution?
No, icewm was not bundled with Fedora Core 2.

Thank you very much Dimitri for your interest.
