Jambi and Eclipse on 64 bit systems

Message 1 in thread

Hi!

I just got word from a fellow developer who has problems with Eclipse and Qt
Jambi. He runs a 64 bit Linux installation on AMD64 and reports that he
cannot use Eclipse and Qt Jambi at the same time, because Eclipse would
produce crashes with a 32 bit Java VM and Qt Jambi would not run with a 64
bit Java VM. While we haven't tried all the possible workarounds yet, this
still begs a question: Will we see 64 bit binaries for Jambi anytime soon or
will these only appear with the final release?

Regards,
Gregor

Hi Gregor,

We haven't decided when we'll do packages for 64-bit. It may be that
this is delayed until the final release.

We've have tested the jambi package on linux/AMD64 with the 32-bit jvm
without noticing any problems though. As a workaround you should at
least be able to run designer / juic separatly and execute the binaries
with the 32-bit jvm on a linux/AMD64 system.

I hope this helps a little bit ;-)

best regards,
Gunnar
