Phonon and video grabbing

Hello.
I am curious, with Phonon and Qt, will I be able to grab video and
store it as raw data, i.e. series of bitmaps? I've read about the work
in progress, but it's not clear to me whether or not this
functionality will be supported. If so, when can I expect a release
with the desired functionality?

Support for this will not be available in Qt-4.4, and it is not yet
decided for which release it will be ready. Towards Qt-4.5 we will
prioritate tighter integration against other parts of Qt (e.g. WebKit
and Graphics view), and in general make sure that already supported
functionality is stable.
