can QT object be a component embedded in a container object?

HI:
I am using QT now . Could it be embedded in a
container object as a component ? If I did this
when the application runs , it say "
QApplication::palette: Please instantiate the
QApplication object first
QWidget: Must construct a QApplication before a
QPaintDevice "

But I had really have this line ,QApplication
app(arg,argv);,in "main (int arg, char * argv[])". 

How can I handle this? Any response will be
appreciated.
